Bellevue Root Canal

Our Bellevue root canal is the best, and typically only, way to save an infected tooth from having to be extracted. And when you consider the complications and consequences of having a tooth removed, including the possibility of shifting teeth and discomfort, as well as the time, effort, and expense of replacing the lost tooth, it makes sense to take the opportunity to keep your natural tooth. And that’s what we at Capehart Family Dentistry want to help you do.

A tooth infection is the result of bacteria gaining access through a large cavity, deep filling, or a chipped or cracked tooth. The pain that you experience is usually severe, and is particularly so when you try to chew with the tooth or apply pressure to it. Contrary to what some people still believe, our Bellevue root canal is not the cause of pain, but rather the solution to relieve the pain you’re already in. The procedure starts with sufficient local anesthesia to numb you during the process. The tooth is drilled from the top until our dentist can reach the nerve and injured pulp, which will both be removed, as well as any debris. The canals are then cleaned out and sealed. Depending on the number of canals for the tooth in question, our Bellevue root canal may either take one or more sessions to complete. If it’s more than one, you will be given a temporary crown to protect the tooth between visits. After the procedure is finished, you will be measured for and fitted with a permanent crown that restores the tooth back to full size.

Fortunately, any tooth that has undergone successful root canal therapy is as strong and durable as your other teeth. You don’t have to worry. Most patients report little or even no pain at all. Don’t hesitate to call us when you’re in pain.
