If you are looking for a dental practice that provides complete dental and periodontal care you will want to visit us at Capehart Family Dentistry. When you need to have a Bellevue gum treatment to help your gums heal, you can receive a scaling and root planing periodontal cleaning at our office.

When you come to our dental practice, you will be seen by one of our expert dentists, just one of whom is Dr. Jeff Dworak. If it is found that you have gingivitis, a common precursor to gum disease, it will most likely be recommended that you simply have several regular dental cleanings over the coming months in order to help your gums return to good health. However, if our dentist finds that you are developing gum disease, and that deep pockets have formed between your teeth and gums, you will most likely need to have a periodontal cleaning, also referred to as a deep cleaning for the gums. This periodontal scaling and root planing treatment will remove all tartar, plaque, bacteria and food debris from the deep pockets; this treatment will help the deep pockets to heal and for the gums to become healthy. The root surfaces of teeth will also be planed so that it will be much more difficult for tartar or plaque to stick to the root surfaces. And, if necessary, our dentist will be able to provide you with topical antibiotic treatment to help any infection present in the deep pockets to heal. Sometimes a patient will need to have more than one scaling and root planing treatment in order for the gums to become healthy again. If this scaling and root planing treatment is not met with success, you may need to have even more advance Bellevue gum treatment in the form of periodontal surgery, to have your gums become healthy again.
